Holiday Magic Returns to Marion with ‘Christmas in the Park’

The best part of the holiday season is the annual traditions we all look forward to. Living in Marion, our family has always loved the annual 'Christmas in the Park' celebration held in the heart of Uptown Marion. This year's event happens this Friday and is filled with family favorites and some new traditions, too!

When is 'Christmas in the Park' in Marion?

This year's 'Christmas in the Park' takes place this Friday, December 5th, from 4 to 8 p.m. The event will happen on 7th Avenue in Uptown Marion between 10th Street and 12th Street, and in the city park. 7th Avenue will be closed to traffic from 2 to 9 p.m. You'll be able to check out the newly opened ice skating loop and the refurbished Central Plaza building!

You'll be able to enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides, caroling, popcorn, holiday treats, and all kinds of festive photo opportunities throughout Uptown Marion. There will be plenty of lights to see in the park and in other areas of the Uptown Marion district!

• Reserved Santa Visits - 4-5 p.m.
• Operation Santa Rescue - 5:10 p.m.
• Visit Santa - 5:30-8 p.m.
• Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides - 4-8 p.m.
• Caroling - 4:30 p.m.
• Addorable Princess Visit - 5-7 p.m.
• Caroling - 5:30 p.m.
• Peace Tree Lighting - 6 p.m.
• Ice Skating Demonstration - 6:15 p.m.
• Open Skating - 6:45-10 p.m.

You'll also be able to walk through the 'Arctic Alley' featuring more than 40,000 lights in the Uptown Artway. Plus, you can take part in the 'Peppermint Walk' at over 40 Uptown Marion businesses and vendors.
