If you've ever shopped for furniture while living here in Iowa, you probably have made a trip to Homemakers Furniture in Urbandale. They have everything you could ever want or need to furnish your home. Soon, your drive to a Homemakers store will be much shorter!
The Corridor Business Journal reports that Homemakers Furniture is planning on opening its second location in Eastern Iowa! The home furnishings retailer says that a new store is planned for the city of Tiffin in the very near future. The CBJ reports that the 200,000 square foot Homemakers store will be built in the fast-growing Park Place development in Tiffin, just a mile north of Interstate 80 off I-380 between Cedar Rapids and Iowa City.
The CBJ reports that the Park Place development already includes the Pinseekers Driving Range, and a new Palms entertainment complex, which will include an IMAX theater and bowling alley, is also being planned. In a press release, Homemakers stated that they have proudly served Iowans for the past 50 years and that they look forward to ushering in an exciting new chapter for the city of Tiffin.
So when will the new Homemakers in Tiffin open for business? The CBJ reports that construction is scheduled to begin sometime in 2025, with a grand opening for the new store in 2028. The store is expected to create around 200 new jobs. The Tiffin store will also include its own warehouse allowing customers to pick up their furniture same day, or choose home delivery according to the CBJ.
