
Cedar Rapids-Based Trucking Firm Honored with National Awards
A Cedar Rapids trucking company is receiving high praise from some of the top companies they work for.
The Don Hummer Trucking Company is located off 33rd Ave. SW in Cedar Rapids. According to their website, they've been involved in freight transportation for more than 70 years. The Don Hummer Trucking Co. was established in 1982, and both of Don's sons are still actively involved in the business today. They work with some of the largest companies in the U.S.
What Awards Did Don Hummer Trucking Win?
The Corridor Business Journal reports that Don Hummer Trucking has just earned three awards from major clients, in recognition of its service, reliability, and problem-solving abilities.
PepsiCo named Don Hummer its 2024 Central Region Carrier of the Year, boasting a 98% or higher on-time delivery rate in key markets like Cedar Rapids, Chicago, Kansas City, and Dallas, according to the CBJ.
HNI Corporation recognized Don Hummer Trucking as its 2024 Truckload Carrier of the Year. The CBJ reports that the award honors performance in customer service, collaboration, and reliability.
The final award came from the Pella Corporation, which named Don Hummer Trucking a 2024 Critical Problem-Solving Carrier. According to the CBJ, the award recognizes the company's ability to manage complex, multi-stop loads and support multiple locations.
The CBJ also reports that Don Hummer Trucking was recently certified as a Truckload Carriers Association Elite Fleet Carrier. That puts the company among a select group of North American trucking companies recognized as a 'Best Place to Drive.'
