For some reason, when I think of the fall time change that is approaching this weekend, a specific song lyric comes to mind. "Hello darkness my old friend...." Yes, the dark wins this time of year, and Daylight Saving Time is about to end. This is your friendly reminder to set your clocks back this weekend!

What is Daylight Saving Time?

If you're new around here, Daylight Saving Time occurs each year between March and November. We set our clocks ahead by one hour. USA Today reports the change is to gain more daylight hours during the summer. When we 'fall back', we add daylight to the morning hours.

When Does Daylight Saving Time End?

If you're reading this, SURPRISE! It ends on Sunday, November 2nd, at 2 a.m. local time. Sunday morning, you'll rise and complete the annoying task of remembering how to set the time on your microwave and oven.

Could Daylight Saving Time Be Eliminated?

There is definitely support out there to get rid of Daylight Saving Time and stick with Standard time. USA Today reports that the Trump Administration has mentioned several times about getting rid of it.

There are several US states and territories that have already gotten rid of Daylight Saving Time. They include Hawaii, Arizona, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Honestly, I get up for work at 330 in the morning...it's dark no matter what time of year!
