If you're a gamer then you know one of the most anticipated releases of the year is the latest college football game from EA Sports. After being dormant for years, the game came back in 2024 thanks in large part to NIL in college sports. Players could now be paid for their name and image which means they would appear in the latest version of the video game. Iowa and Iowa State players are about to get a pay raise thanks to EA Sports.

When EA Sports brought back its college football game in 2024, players who agreed to have their name, image, and likeness used in the game received a deluxe version of the game and $600 according to the Des Moines Register. Players for college teams were sent notices this week asking to confirm if they would like to be a part of the 2025 version of the college football game. What player wouldn't?

The Register reports that if players accept EA Sports' offer this year, they still get a deluxe version of the game, and $1500. Players can opt out of the deal, and if they signed up last year they will automatically be in this year's game and get the updated payment amount.

More than 11,000 players from all 134 Division I football teams were in last year's college football game according to the Register. That number is expected to be the same or slightly higher for this year's game.
