Community Invited to Grand Reopening of a Historic Eastern Iowa Park
We have a lot of great parks throughout Eastern Iowa.
The City of Cedar Falls is inviting the community to come together for a special celebration of a newly renovated park that has a history dating back to the late 1800s.
A Renovated Cedar Falls Park is Reopening
Seerley Park on Sunday, September 21, 2025.
The event begins at 3:30 p.m. with remarks from Mayor Danny Laudick and members of the Seerley Park fundraising committee, followed by a chance for visitors to tour the park’s major upgrades.

Improvements include a new gazebo shelter, ADA-accessible playground equipment with turf surfacing, and updated signage to enhance the space’s look and accessibility.

Right after the ribbon-cutting, the festivities continue with the third annual “Jazz in Seerley” celebration from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A Fun, Free Family Event at Seerley Park
The free event will feature live jazz music, food trucks, and local vendors, welcoming families, neighbors, and students from the nearby College Hill area.
Seerley Park, located just north of Seerley Boulevard between Tremont and Iowa Street, is one of Cedar Falls’ oldest recreational areas.

Established in 1893, the park has seen little change for over 50 years.
The renovation project represents a major transformation aimed at improving safety, accessibility, and family-friendly activities while restoring the park as a community hub.
More information about the park project can be found on the city’s website at cedarfalls.com.
