If you've watched Caitlin Clark during her first two years in the WNBA, you already know that her relationship with referees is a bit tenuous. Clark was hit with six technical fouls during her rookie season with the Indiana Fever. One more, and she would have faced a mandatory suspension from the league. Several of them were for arguing with the refs.

Caitlin Clark Stirs the Pot Online

During the Fever's first-round playoff series against the Atlanta Dream, Clark would take that argument online. The Des Moines Register reports that following the Fever's game 2 win over Atlanta, Clark went on Instagram writing, "Elite bench mob", and "Refs couldn't stop us".

It was that second comment that ended up getting Clark in trouble.

WNBA Fines Caitlin Clark

The Register reports that Clark announced over the weekend that she had been fined by the WNBA for her comments on Instagram. The price tag for her online comments? $200. Fever teammate Sophie Cunningham said what the rest of us were thinking.

The $200 fine won't hurt Caitlin Clark financially, but some point out that it could paint an even bigger target on her back from the refs when she returns to the court next season.
