First George Kittle, Now Brock Purdy to Miss Time for Niners
In the NFL, injuries are part of the game. Every team has players go down during the course of the season. You just have to hope that the injuries are severe, and your star players can remain healthy. The San Francisco 49ers have been hit by the injury bug hard after just one week of the NFL season.
What Injury Did Brock Purdy Suffer?
Former Cyclone quarterback Brock Purdy hasn't practiced all week, according to the Des Moines Register. Purdy is reportedly suffering from a shoulder injury and a toe injury. Yesterday afternoon, Ian Rapoport reported that Purdy will actually miss time due to the toe injury.
Turf toe is a painful injury to the joint on your big toe. It tends to be a common injury for athletes, especially ones who spring and jump, according to the Register.
When Did Purdy Get Hurt?
It happened at some point during the Niners' week one game at Seattle. The Register reports that Purdy had an up-and-down day, throwing for two touchdowns, but also throwing 2 interceptions. He did lead the team on a touchdown drive late in the game that proved to be the game-winner.

What Happened to George Kittle?
The Register reports that former Iowa Hawkeye tight end George Kittle will also miss time for San Francisco. A hamstring injury caused the Niners to put Kittle on injured reserve, meaning he will miss at least the next four games.
Injuries are a part of the game. The Niners hope their two star players heal quickly. San Fran is at the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
