Let's find out when we spring forward!

When Does Daylight Saving Begin in Iowa?

In 2025 we'll be springing forward in March like we always do. And, once the calendar flips to March, you won't have to wait too long.

Daylight Saving Time, or DST, is the process of setting our clocks forward an hour to, as the name implies, add more daylight to our evenings. We do this as the days are getting noticeably longer.

According to the Farmer's Almanac, the notion that Benjamin Franking "invented" the concept is not exactly true, though he did want people to wake up earlier to save on the cost of candlelight.

Well, for Daylight Saving in 2025, you'll set your clock forward in the wee hours of Sunday, March 9. At 2 a.m. to be exact.

Daylight Saving is then in effect until early Sunday, November 2.

For years, the concept of "springing forward" and "falling back" has been criticized.

In fact, with the new Trump administration, some think the days of Daylight Saving Time ending in November could be coming to an end.

No matter how you feel about it, I think we can all agree that spring sounds really good right now, no?

Iowans Name Their Favorite Small Town Restaurants

I asked Iowans on Facebook what their favorite small town Eastern Iowa restaurant is, and there were some great suggestions! According to Google, a town is considered "small" when it has 5,000 people or less. Our list includes restaurants in towns that have a population of 7,000 or less, and some of them have MUCH less! Here are 20 recommendations from folks in Eastern Iowa:
