Here's a fantastic time to remind you that it's never smart to drink and drive. It's dangerous and it's illegal. Something I was always taught when I was younger is that if you drink and drive you could kill yourself or worse, kill someone else. Imagine for the rest of your life trying to sleep at night knowing you did something like that to someone else. Pretty scary stuff.

According to KWWL, there was a 21-year-old female who was pulled over on Highway 218. Here are where the details of this story get pretty insane. She was pulled over after being clocked driving at 103 miles per hour, in a 65 miles per hour zone.

Not only was she driving 38 mph over the speed limit, but she also had a Blood Alcohol Level of .421. That's 5x the legal limit. She was brought to jail and there were several other violations as well. If your night is going to involve alcohol, make sure to have some kind of plan for the end of the night. Call a Lyft, have a sober cab, stay at the person's house, or walk. If you have a plan going into the night, you won't go into that late-night panic mode as you try to find a way home and settle on driving when you shouldn't.

Just to be clear before proceeding, I want to remind you once again, to not drink and drive. It's illegal, dangerous, and can kill people. I'm all for going out and having a good time. It's fun, it's a great way to let loose and spend time socializing. Just make sure to have a plan on how you're getting home or where you're going to stay.  Now that we've got that part clear...what on earth was this girl thinking?

If you're 5x the legal limit to drive, you're well aware of how intoxicated you are and that you should not be behind the wheel. There's no "I had two beers, I'm fine excuse." You're plenty drunk at that point. Not only that but if you do end up getting behind the wheel after drinking, why would you not do everything you can to obey every traffic law and proceed as safely as possible? Traveling 103 mph in a 65 will get you pulled over even if you're dead sober. Driving 103 mph while drunk is downright stupid...Yikes.

It's important to remember no one was hurt in this situation and that people make mistakes. There's no good excuse for driving 5x over the legal limit but thankfully, the only lesson this 21-year-old has to learn now is how the court system works.
