Quad Cities Karaoke Championship
The #1 Dive Bar in the USA, The Edge Eatery and Drinkatorium partnered with other bars in the Quad Cities area to host the first-ever Quad Cities Karaoke Championship.
Eighteen local voices will compete in the semi-finals at Rhythm City Casino Resort, in the Rhythm Room on Thursday, August 17th at 6:00 PM. Nine of the eighteen singers will advance to the Championship Round at Rhythm City Casino on Thursday, August 24th, at 7:00 PM.
The finalists will be competing for cash prizes of $1500 split between the top 3 in the Championship Round.
The competition was designed to attract the best voices from around the community to showcase their talent and support local businesses.
“The karaoke championship offered those that want to compete to pick from nine qualifying events, held in nine different venues, on nine different dates. The 2 top scoring singers at each qualifying event automatically advanced to the semi-finals at Rhythm City Casino in August. “We have been blown away by the popularity of the qualifying rounds and the amazing talent that lives right here in the Quad Cities area” said Chris Pierce, co-chair, emcee, and co-founder of the event.
Anyone over 21 years of age can cheer on the contestants at the free event.
“This is the inaugural event for the Quad Cities Karaoke Championship, and we plan to make this an annual competition that will include more qualifying dates and locations so that we can attract the absolute best singers from around the region and draw audiences into the qualifying locations so they can follow the competition right to the championship”, said Lynn Hunt, co-chair.
