Hey Iowa, Have You Ever Tried ‘It’s Just Wings?’
The other day my wife and I were busy doing some work around the house and by the time we were done, neither of us felt like making anything for dinner.
At our house, we can both tell when it's going to be one of those "let's just order something" kind of nights. After 8 years together...we don't even need to say anything at this point.
Between my wife and I, normally I am the one who suggests getting wings for dinner. Or at least going to a restaurant that has good wings. To my surprise last week, my wife suggested chicken wings. I'll never turn down a night of chicken wings so that was perfectly fine with me. She then suggested someplace I had never heard of called "It's Just Wings."
I assumed this was some restaurant she had heard of while scrolling through social media and I was on board to try something different. After doing some work around the house, I didn't care where the food came from, I was just hungry at that point.
After the food arrived at our house, I really enjoyed the buffalo and parmesan garlic flavors that I had selected. I like wings that are more on the crispy/crunchy side, and these were perfect if you are a fan of wings prepared like that. After finishing my food I asked her "Wait, where are these from? These are pretty damn good." She said it's this place called It's Just Wings.
After a 5-second Google search...I discovered that these are made at Chili's!?
It's Just Wings
It's Just Wings is like a virtual chicken wing restaurant. You can either pick up your wings, have them delivered, or dine in at Chili's and Maggiano's.
At first, I was pretty confused how this works. "So a restaurant operates inside of a different restaurant?" Essentially, yes but also, no.
It's Just Wings was launched by Chili's back in 2020 as an online-only brand, according to WATT Poultry. "Menu items from the virtual brand are prepared in the kitchens of 1,000 company-operated Chili’s and Maggiano’s but can only be ordered through DoorDash and other third-party delivery apps."
I had no idea where these wings came from or where they were made but overall, I was impressed. I enjoyed them and at some point, will be ordering them again. The next time you're in a situation where you don't want to make anything and you plan on getting food dropped off at your house, It's Just Wings might be worth a shot!
I've only tried 2 of the sauces so I can't comment on any of the other choices but the buffalo wings weren't overly spicey and I enjoy anything with garlic, so I was a fan of both those selections. I suppose restaurants had to get creative in 2020, during the pandemic, and I might just be way behind but I had never heard of a virtual restaurant before.
