Iowa Bucket List: Drive a Real NASCAR Around Iowa Speedway
If you're a NASCAR fan, there is an Iowa thing that you really need to put on your bucket list. It really is possible to drive a NASCAR racer around Iowa Speedway and this is how.
I have to confess that I was never much of a Rusty Wallace fan. For me, it was Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. That means by nature I wasn't much of a Jeff Gordon fan either. That being said, I'm thankful that Rusty Wallace is the guy to thank now if you'd like to take a stock car for a spin around Iowa Speedway. Based on his official website, he helped design the track so I guess it's understandable that he'd be the hookup for a spin around the place.
Here's a little taste of what it looks like from behind the wheel.
It looks like you can pick from quite a few different options including a quick 4-lap tour around the track up to a full 50 laps. They even mention a shootout which I hope means racing and possibly wrecking other guests. Sorry, that was the Earnhardt part of me talking.
The side-by-side ride along seems like a nice option since you go faster and have another stock car alongside.
If you think this is something you'd like to check off your list before your days are over, you can check out the official website for more details on what it would take for you to burn some rubber around Iowa Speedway in Newton.
