There's a good chance you have not one but multiple items this company makes inside your home. This operations plant, located in Iowa City, has a workforce of about 400 people, and they make items you likely use every, single, day.

Procter and Gamble have close to 400 employees as well as 400 contractors on site and they make hair products, personal care products, and oral rinse products according to KCRG As I mentioned before, it's possible you have multiple products they make and you might use these multiple times a day.

One of the products they are responsible for making is Crest toothpaste and other crest oral hygiene products. They also are responsible for making baby care products, feminine care products, grooming products, home care, personal health care, and the list goes on and on. With 400 employees and a huge impact, the company wants to minimize its impact on the environment.

Procter and Gamble have the goal of net-zero emissions by 2040 according to KCRG. One of the ways they hope to reach that goal is with their new EC30 product line. These are products that come in small packaging.

Alicia Baldwin is a Process Engineer for Functional Fibers and she told KCRG

Toilet cleaners that you’re using or shampoo or conditioner, you have a product that’s suspended in a lot of water, so this really brings a concentrated version of those products to our consumers and then as they’re taking a shower or washing their hands in the sink, they’re able to use the water they already have home for this product.

As of now these products can only be found and bought online but if you are looking for a job, Procter and Gamble in Iowa City are getting ready to hire. As they get started increasing production of these EC30 products, they plan to hire more workers.

Hopefully, we start to see more and more businesses follow Procter and Gamble's lead and try to have less of an impact on the environment. Whether you believe in global warming or climate change isn't really the point. The point is we should all be doing our part to take care of our planet. Picking up litter and being environmentally friendly is something every American can make a goal of. The great news is you don't have to try and reach it by 2040, you can start today.
