
How Much Snow Actually Fell in Iowa
The totals from across the state are in.
From Sioux City's 0 inches to Bluffton's 14 inches, there wasn't as much snow as there was expected. In Waterloo, we were hit with 3-4 inches. The original forecast said that the snow would start around 10 in the morning. There weren't really reports of flakes falling until about 4:30-5 starting in Cedar Falls and Waverly. While it did snow most of the night, it was over early Saturday in the Cedar Valley.
The Quad Cities reported 4-6 inches where as Cedar Rapids reported 6.5 inches of snow. Des Moines metro topped out around 7 inches.
The majority of the snow fell in central and north and northeast Iowa.
