Every now and then I'll read a study on the internet, about Iowa, that causes one of my eyebrows to raise. Before we share the findings from this study, I do want to mention that I absolutely love this cuisine that's been discovered as the most popular in Iowa. Honestly, I'm not sure I know anyone who doesn't like this type of food. I was just a bit surprised to find out how popular it really is in Iowa.

If there's someone in your friend group who doesn't like this kind of food, kick them out of the friend group and remove them from the group chat. That type of negativity is not needed in your life. I just have a hard time believing this would actually be Iowa's favorite food.

If a stranger asked me "What's the most popular food in Iowa?" I would probably respond with pork. Which in my opinion, makes sense. Iowa is the number 1 pork-producing state and nearly one-third of the U.S. hogs are from Iowa. According to the Gazette, hogs outnumbered people by 7-1 in Iowa, in 2022.

Price Listo conducted its research by analyzing Google search data over the past 12 months. They tracked every state's most "googled" cuisine to determine its findings.

In the Hawkeye State, there are over 50,658 searches for Mexican food, made by Iowa residents each month. As I said before, Mexican food is one of my favorites. I have no qualms with the findings of this research but before I read this article, if I was a gambling man, I would've bet the farm on pork being the number 1 answer. To be fair...there are plenty of Mexican dishes that involve some kind of pork, so I wouldn't say I was totally off base.

Speaking of Mexican food, don't forget that during the NBA finals, you have a chance to win a free burrito from Chipotle.

Could someone please pass me the chips and queso? I'll take a medium margarita on the rocks to go with it.
