Hawaii Men Charged After Stealing A Felony Amount of Oranges
Two Hawaii men were arrested and charged after allegedly stealing over 75 pounds of oranges from a farm over the weekend.
Prosecutors say 41-year-old Kellen Tolentino and 38-year-old Joshua Reding-Kellogg, both of Honokaa, have been charged with second-degree theft and criminal trespass.
Officials say the pair illegally entered a farm in Kalopa last Saturday and were able to steal an excessive amount of oranges - enough for their charges to be bumped up to a Class C Felony offense.
The two are facing up to five years of prison - or possibly 4 years probation with 12 months served in jail.
Tolentino and Reding-Kellogg’s made their first appearance in Hilo District Court on Tuesday where their bail was set at $2,250.
