An Iowa Pizza Restaurant is Now Using This Cereal as a Topping
I'm not a big pizza guy. I'll admit it, the carbs... the cheese (I love cheese, but I have issues with lactose). I don't eat it often. And those around me are thankful for that. But this new pizza from Fong's Pizza in Des Moines does intrigue me.
Fong's just introduced an all-new Froot Loops Pizza. Yes, you read that correctly. And yes, that's how the cereal is spelled. What do you think of the concept? YUM or YUCK? Folks on social media are split. However there's no denying: it put Fong's on the map nationally so even if it's the nastiest pizza ever thrown in an oven and fed to the general public, they're going to benefit from the buzz.
This also begs the question: What's next? How about Lucky Charms lasagna? Or maybe bran flakes battered chicken? Apple Jacks jerk chicken? Corn Pops pot pies? I could go on for days. But I won't. I'll leave you to decide if it sounds good and, if you do try it, please let me know how the experience goes. It certainly looks... unique.
Hey, people have putting pineapple on pizza since the dawn of Americanized pizza. Maybe Froot Loops wouldn't be bad? Both are sweet. The crunch factor is way higher with cereal, but maybe it's not too bad. I'll just keep telling myself that. Maybe I'll eventually believe it.
The nearest Fong's is in Cedar Rapids. They have a couple Des Moines locations and one in Ankney as well. Learn more by visiting their website.
