Former Hawkeye Files A Grievance Against the Vikings
You might remember this former QB for the Iowa Hawkeyes. He was a 3-year starter and finished with a career record of 27-12. He ended his career with the second most touchdown passes in school history, second most passing yards, 3rd in total offense, and second in career pass attempts and completions, according to the Minnesota Vikings website. If you're a Hawkeye fan, you likely remember the name, Nate Stanley.
Nate was a 7th-round draft pick in the 2020 NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings and back on September 1st, the former Hawkeye QB filed an injury grievance against the Minnesota Vikings, according to Vikings Wire Today.
Stanley was released by the Vikings back in July, however, he's looking to get paid for the season as he claims he's suffered a football-related injury. According to Vikings Wire Today, the injury involves a pain that runs down his leg which is related to a nerve.
As for now, it's a waiting game for both sides. Nate will wait on the NFL to make a decision and the Vikings will have 172,000 less in cap space to work with until that decision has been made. Once that happens, which could take weeks, Nate could be awarded an NFL injury settlement, which he claims he deserves.
