A Florida man has created a replica of an Irish Castle.

He told the Palm Beach Post that he saw a photo of Lohort Castle in a library and he thought, “Hey, I can build that.” So, he did --- and it took him over 30 years.

The castle sits on five acres along the Wellington Environmental Preserve at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Everglades Habitat, near West Palm Beach.

The castle’s inspiration, Lohort Castle, was built in 1184 in County Cork, Ireland. According to irelandcastles.com; it was taken by the Irish forces during the English Civil War in 1647 and was one of the bloodiest battles. Over 4,500 men were killed in just three hours.

This replica in Florida features over 4,400 square feet with four master bedrooms, 4.5 baths, two fireplaces, and a three-car detached garage.

It also features a moat (it's actually a pond), and a toilet with an escape hatch to one of the turrets.

The castle is currently asking $825,000.
