Eric Church is back on top with "Some of It," his latest single. The song has reached the No. 1 spot on both the Billboard Country Airplay chart and the Mediabase chart.

Co-written by Church, Jeff Hyde, Bobby Pinson and Clint Daniels, the song is the second single from Church's acclaimed 2018 project, Desperate Man. It follows in the footsteps of Church's other career-defining No. 1 hits like "Springsteen," "Drink in My Hand" and "Record Year."

But "Some of It" wouldn't have been included on the album if not for Church's wife, Katherine, who chose to play the song for a friend of theirs out of several others that didn't make the cut, inspiring the singer to go back into the studio to make it a foundational part of the record.

Eric Church Was Blacklisted, But He Kind of Deserved It

Citing it as a "coming-of-age song," 'Some of It" translates simple, yet thought-provoking, observations of life into lyrics such as: "Money ain't rich / Everybody sins / And nobody wins in a fight / And sometimes wrong gets right."

“I think it’s really interesting that the album took on an identity that allowed ‘Some Of It’ to make it from where it started to where it is now, and it just fit in the dialogue," Church described in a 2018 video he posted to Instagram. "To me, it made the album."

Church continues on his massive 2019 Double Down Tour that takes him to cities across the U.S., as well as a two-night stay in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, through the end of November.
