Elevated Fire Danger for Friday
With gusty winds in the forecast on Friday along with very low humidity, Friday will NOT be a good day to burn brush or leaves. Fires may only take moments to spread and become uncontrollable.
The National Weather Service in Des Moines says:
Strong southwest winds, dried out crops/vegetation, low relative humidity and warm temperatures are all ingredients for rapid fire growth.
