Last Month, Eddie Money announced that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer. He received the diagnosis late last year during a routine visit to his doctor and it was announced on his TV show, "Real Money" which airs on AXS. (Season 2 premiered on 9/12)

News arrived this morning, 9/13, that he had died at the age of 70.

In July he had canceled his touring plans after being treated for pneumonia, and he'd undergone heart surgery in the spring.

He topped the charts three times with "Think I'm in Love," "Take Me Home Tonight," and "The Love in Your Eyes." His 12th studio record was scheduled to be released later this year.

He married his wife, Laura, in 1989 and they had five children.
