Dustin Lynch and His ‘Good Girl’ Are Bandits on the Run in the Official Video
Dustin Lynch has found himself a loyal partner in the "Good Girl" music video.
Lynch and his leading lady are criminals on the loose, wreaking havoc in a small desert town. While the lyrics narrate an innocent story, the video flips the song's delicate nature on its head, chronicling their life on the road as bandits. From robbing convenience stores to running from the cops, the dynamic duo are bound by faithfulness.
Lynch clearly has a "good girl" on his side when the cops finally catch up to him and she manages to trick the officer into thinking her car has broken down. As he takes a look at the engine, she coyly handcuffs him to the fender and the two escape on a desert highway as the breezy beat plays in the background and Lynch croons, "I got it good girl 'cause I got myself a good girl / Still can't believe I found you / Can't imagine life without you."
Dustin Lynch Has Always Been Good With the Ladies
The country star explains the journey of "Good Girl" almost as an act of fate. The song was written after the release of his latest album Current Mood, while he was on the road with Brad Paisley. Co-writers Justin Ebach and Andy Albert joined him for a writing session and once it was done, Lynch had a gut instinct the song needed to be released as soon as possible.
"Music is a funny thing. Our taste buds change constantly for what we want. For whatever reason 'Good Girl' wanted to be out this summer," he tells Taste of Country Nights' Sam Alex about the song that "came out of nowhere." "It threw a wrench into how we normally do things in Nashville and release songs."
Lynch will take to the road once again when he joins Cole Swindell and Lauren Alaina on Swindell's headlining 2018 Reason to Drink ... Another Tour that runs October through December. He'll mark a career milestone when he's inducted into the Grand Ole Opry on Sept. 18.
