Contest Announced for Free Trip to Washington, D.C. To Honor Military Women’s Memorial
Last year marked the 25th anniversary of the Military Women's Memorial in Washington D.C. It is located in Arlington National Cemetery and honors women from all over the U.S. who have served our nation in the armed forces. Award-winning country singer and songwriter Stokes Nielson was selected to write a song, honoring the occasion. That song is called 'Strength of America.'
In an interview with K92.3, Stokes told me he was incredibly honored to have been selected to pen the song about such an important place in our nation's capital. He also announced a way for others to get involved and possibly win a trip to see the memorial yourself!
Nielson announced a contest in which you can submit a cover of the song 'Strength of America' or if you don't like to sing, you can also write an essay on what you believe the strength of America is. If you are selected as a winner in the cover contest or the essay contest, you'll receive a free trip to Washington D.C. this summer to view the Military Women's Memorial and other important sites in our nation's capital. Someone from the state of Iowa will win a trip, and it might as well be you!
If you are interested in taking part in the song cover contest or the essay contest, you can send an email to strengthofamericasong@gmail.com. More information will be sent out to you on how to submit your entries. Good luck, and thank you for helping to honor the women who have so bravely served our country!
