New year, new restaurant!

In mid-July, news came out that the restaurant Barrel House would be closing its Cedar Rapids location for good.

Located at 102 2nd St SE, the eatery opened in May of 2022. The space did not remain vacant for too long before news broke of a new business moving into this downtown spot.

Citywalk Opens In Cedar Rapids

Now, a new eatery has officially opened its doors to customers. CityWalk Eatery is filling both the physical and culinary space left empty by the Barrel House.

The team behind the eatery describe their menu as an "elevated dining experience" on their website.

Initially the owners planned to open in the fall. Earlier this week, the CityWalk team gave an update on the status of the newest restaurant to open in the City of Five Seasons.

They held their soft opening on December 31st!

After the success of this soft opening, the restaurant is actually extending these celebrations for an extra week.

The CityWalk Eatery soft opening will run from January 1st until January 12th from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

CityWalk will be open for lunch and dinner and will serve up menu items that include rib-eye, steaks, trout, pastas, wraps, and sandwiches.

They also offer a "carefully crafted" cocktail menu which includes classic drinks and unique concoctions that are unique to the restaurant. Make sure to check out the full menu here!

You can reserve a table at CityWalk on their website here.
