Marks In The Morning

It's been a quiet year for musicians. One of the perks of the industry is that while you may not be able to go out and perform your music, you can continue to see success from the music that you've created. This year K-Country artist Justin Moore falls into this very category. While he wasn't performing, and admittadly only wrote one song; he did see major success on the country charts with his hit "Why We Drink."

Jadyn M. is a first grader at Orange Elementary. From the picture above, you can see that Jadyn has donated her hair so she can "be able to help sick kids." What you might not know is that she has done this TWICE. Her first time donating her locks was when she was four and the second time was two years later at the age of six.

There are some weekends where nothing goes your way. While my weekend kicked off as it usually does (with pizza) it ended up being a bit more frustrating than usual. First off, the computer I got for Christmas was just not working for me, so I had to call up Apple support and was on the phone with them for hours, then I got locked out of my room....it was a whole mess.

As always our partner in this venture Screaming Eagle is giving us a hand to make these kids feel special. Each honoree will receive a gift card to the Screaming Eagle and a certificate verifying their awesomeness.

A senior at Waterloo East High is going out with a bang. On Monday, February 22, Stephanie Burge brought home the Class 2A individual state championship for bowling.

Another week, another batch of amazing students. It truly amazes us how many wonderful kids there are in the Cedar Valley. I can tell with every week it's only going to be tougher for us to pick just one student to honor.
