High School Football Teams Will Keep 9-Game Schedule:
On Wednesday (January 22, 2014), the Iowa High School Athletic Association’s (IHSAA) Board of Control voted to keep the current nine-game regular season format. As in past years, the post-season will begin with first-round games on a Wednesday night and playoff qualifiers advancing to the state quarterfinals will play four games in 15 days.

US Government Continues to Issue Warning About Olympics:
The State Department has warned Americans planning to attend the games to be vigilant about their security because of potential terrorist threats.  Most U.S. intelligence experts say any attacks during the Olympics are most likely to occur at places other than Sochi.  The U.S. military said earlier this week that air and naval assets, including two ships in the Black Sea, would be made available if needed during the Sochi Winter Olympics in support of Russia, which faces militant threats to disrupt the Games.

Just when you thought comedy icon Bill Cosby had retired, in spite of his recent "Far from Finished" stand-up (or sit-down) special on Comedy Central, the cultural icon and pudding magnate is at it again. The 76 year-old Cosby will return to NBC decades after 'The Cosby Show' for a new original family sitcom, to both star in and produce.
