Here are the 8 Best Restaurants in the Midwest for 2024 [PHOTOS]

Yelp has released their annual list of the Top 100 Places to Eat in the U.S.! Unfortunately, there are no Iowa restaurants on the list for 2024, but there are eight from the Midwest!

The highest-rated Midwest restaurant on Yelp's list was a place called Menya Rui in St. Louis. The 24-seat restaurant is owned and operated by Chef Steven Pursley, who trained for three years in Japanese ramen shops before opening his own place. Not only is the eatery small, but the menu is, too. Menya Rui only offers two appetizers and a few different Ramen, Tsukemen, and Mazemen options. It has a 4.8-star rating on Google and a 4.6-star rating on Yelp.

Here are the other seven restaurants from the Midwest to make the top 100:

#13 - Express Deli in Brook Park, Ohio

Late last year, Yelp also released a list of the Best New Restaurants of 2023. There were only 25 restaurants across the U.S. to make the list, but three of them are here in the Midwest:

• # 15 - Lupi & Iris in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

• #18 - Indienne in Chicago, Illinois

• # 20 - Alpana in Chicago, Illinois

There is one list that Iowa DID make in 2023, and that's Yelp's Top 100 Burgers in America! Exactly ONE Iowa restaurant was ranked in the top 100, and that's the famous Zombie Burger + Drink Lab in Des Moines! My personal favorites are the Walking Ched, Juan of the Dead, and They're Coming to Get You Barbara, but the weekly specials also look incredible!
