B.H. County Health Dept Hosting Free HIV Screening This Fri. & Sat.

For the last six months the coronavirus pandemic has dominated the news cycle, however there's another virus that is still an epidemic in the U.S. According to Iowa Department of Public Health, in 2019, there were 2,938 Iowans who were diagnosed with HIV and living in Iowa. There were 98 Iowans newly diagnosed last year.

Although HIV is non-curable, it can be treated and is preventable. It's important to for everyone to know your HIV status. The Black Hawk County Health Department is offering free rapid HIV testing in the Young Arena parking lot Friday, September 25th from 10:00am-4:00pm and Saturday, September 26th from 10:00am-2:00pm. Get your results in one minute during this drive-through testing event. The first 50 people will receive a ten dollar gas card. No appointment is needed and it's all fast, free and confidential!
