Another winter weather event is expected to sweep through Northeastern Iowa this Thursday. According to our weather partners at KCRG, the wintry mix is still expected to move through much of Eastern Iowa today.

They are predicting that we might see anywhere between 3 to 7 inches of snowfall over the course of the day. Parts of our listenership might be seeing 3, 4, or 5 inches hit them versus those higher amounts. It is supposed to move in by mid-morning and slowly start to spread.

Our weather partners anticipate that it will continue on into tonight and wrap up sometime early tomorrow morning. Due to the timing of the storm, your drive into work or school will be fine, but the drive home will be a challenge.

Thus, multiple schools in Northeastern Iowa have already announced that they would be dismissing students a bit early today.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck: School will close at noon today

Hawkeye Community College: All Hawkeye Community College locations will close at 1:00 PM today due to pending weather conditions

Howard-Winneshiek CSD: 11:30 AM dismissal with no evening activities

Janesville Consolidated School District: School will close at 12:50 with no activities today

Lone Tree Community School District: 1:00 PM dismissal with no evening activities

Postville: 12:30 dismissal

Sumner-Fredericksburg CSD2-hr. early out and no evening practices or activities

Union Community Schools: 1:15 PM dismissal

Waterloo Community School District: All Waterloo schools will dismiss 2 hours early

Waverly-Shell Rock Community School District: School will dismiss early today. Shell Rock and Lied at 12:00, the Waverly Elementary buildings at 12:15, the middle school at 12:20, and the high school at 12:30.

Also, the city of Raymond has issued a Snow Emergency, which means no parking on any city street from noon on Thursday through noon on Friday.

We will keep you updated with the latest school announcements as they are made.
