It's the perfect photo op!

Back in early August, Pheasant Run Farm near Belle Plaine opened up their fields for the 2021 Sunflower Experience. But, because sunflowers only bloom for about ten days, their fields are now closed. Don't worry, though! Another sunflower popular eastern Iowa sunflower field is getting ready to bloom!


Bloomsbury Farm in Atkins is inviting Iowans to come check out their 2021 Sunflower Festival starting next week. The website reads:

"Check this off your bucket list! Our you-pick sunflower fields are the perfect photo op, day maker & addition to brighten your home! Whether you are snapping a photo in them or taking some home with you, we know this will be an experience you will remember forever!"

The Sunflower Festival will run Thursday through Sundays from September 9th through September 26th (it's closed Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays). You'll be able to check out all the flowers from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. If you purchase your farm pass online before 11:59 p.m. tonight (September 2nd), you can get it for $11.95, otherwise it's $19.95 per person. The ticket not only gives you access to the sunflower fields, but other attractions like the 10-acre corn maze, the Super Slide, the Jumping Pillow, Tire Mountain, the Corn Palace, the petting zoo, and more. If you're more of a fan of pumpkins than sunflowers, the tickets are also valid for the Harvest Festival. That will run Thursdays through Sundays from September 30th to October 31st.
