ORIGINAL STORY 6/21:

Get ready for a new place to eat over in Marion! Thanks to a new Facebook post, we got word that a new ice cream shop and restaurant called Earl's Chill & Grill is getting set to open very soon.

Earl's Chill & Grill is located at the corner of 10th St and 29th Ave in the former Parlor City Ice Cream. It was announced back in late August that Parlor City would be closing until the winter due to staff shortages, but it appears that it never reopened.

Earl's Chill & Grill is owned by Brian Langfitt and his wife Jennifer, both residents of Marion. The new family-owned business is named after Brian's father Earl. Brian said in an interview that he and Jennifer were sad to see Parlor City close, so they wanted to bring another ice cream and food shop back to the area. He says to expect "great food, fast service, and friendly staff." Menu items will include burgers, sandwiches, and fried food, as well as soft-serve ice cream, shakes, slushies, and more. Both dine-in and drive-thru options will be available.

Jennifer told me that they are hoping to open Earl's Chill & Grill as soon as this weekend, but we won't know for sure until later in the week. When the new place opens, the hours will be Sunday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Earl's Chill & Grill doesn't have a website or Facebook page yet, but they are coming soon! We will keep you updated with any new information.
