Authorities are investigating a weekend accident involving a child and sport utility vehicle in Waverly.

According to an Iowa State Patrol report, 12-year-old Izzy Luck was crossing 4th Street Southwest – or Business U.S. Highway 218 – when he was struck by a southbound Honda CR-V. Authorities said 57-year-old Eric Pruhs of Waverly was driving the SUV.

Luck was transported to a Waterloo hospital by Waverly ambulance with undisclosed injuries.

The accident happened Friday just before 7 PM at the intersection with 7th Avenue Southwest.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by Waverly police and Bremer County sheriff’s officials.
