I have to admit news headlines are becoming increasingly troublesome. TV shows and movies are not much better. The world around us continues to challenge my faith.

Are you kidding me? That's the phrase I find myself shouting out loud anymore. There's not a day that goes by that I don't find myself shaking my head and saying that phrase over and over. Fortunately, I have found a few things refresh my devotion.

I don't know about you but I find myself escaping into my comfort zones when the news just gets to be to much.  I hang out with my family, consume food that's bad for me but tastes oh so good. Sometimes I just shut off the TV and my phone and escape to enjoy some sunshine.

When I do sit down in front of the TV, I find myself watching old shows like 'Little House On The Prairie' and 'The Walton's'. Sometimes I watch old black and white movies on Saturday nights. There almost as comforting as those 'bad for you' foods. Almost. NOTHING can replace chocolate. Just sayin'.

Yeah, I know it's corny, but it gives me some peace. It takes me back to when I was a kid. A time of innocence. It's also nice to watch something that doesn't make me feel like I need to scrub down in the shower with Lava soap and then go to church.

They say that you should surround yourself with what you WANT to be. Recently, I've noticed a lot of faith based movies coming out of Hollywood. I'm not talking about big production movies like Russel Crow's movie 'Noah'. YUCK! I'm talking about lower budget movies. These are the movies that are getting my attention because their message rings true. They have an honest and natural way of soothing my soul.

There is a new movie coming out on August 28th called 'War Room'. If you're like me and believe in the power of prayer, then this movie might be right up your alley. Here's the trailer.

The creators of 'War Room' also did some other good movies like 'Courageous', 'Fireproof' and 'Facing The Giants'. Again, not huge blockbuster mega star productions BUT movies with meaning. Here are the movie trailers if you are interested.

COURAGEOUS

FIREPROOF

FACING THE GIANTS

Hopefully you enjoy the movies as much as I have so far. I'm looking forward to August 28th. If you manage to get out and see 'War Room', let me know what you think on the B-n-B Facebook page. God Bless, Lainie Brooks
