The Iowa Hawkeye women's basketball team has had quite a run with the national media for the past 2 years and that attention has led to a book being made about this year's team. The best part is the book is being created for Iowans, by Iowans.

When you're team makes a run at a National Championship for the first time in school history and you have one of the greatest college basketball players to ever play the game, it's not very surprising that the Daily Iowan, as well as the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Iowa, would like to capture the experience.

According to Hawkeye Sports, a photo and essay book will be created to celebrate the Iowa women's basketball season.

The book will feature photos taken by Daily Iowan photographers (from games, practices and behind-the-scenes with the team), essays from campus and national experts and thought-leaders in women’s athletics, and stories written by journalism students about this significant moment in Iowa athletics and women’s basketball.

Once the season is over for this year's team, the book will be published in the immediate weeks. Fans can plan on purchasing the book in either late April or early May. If you would like to pre-order the book, you can do so at the Daily Iowan.

Not only will you be able to capture a little piece of history with this historical Iowa Hawkeye team, but you're also helping out a fantastic cause. $1 of all pre-sales will be donated to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital, according to Hawkeye Sports.

This Hawkeye team has played in the historic Cross-over at Kinnick basketball game this season. A game that blew a previous women's basketball attendance out of the water. Caitlin Clark is setting scoring records every single time she touches a basketball, and getting a little sneak peek behind the scenes will be an incredible keepsake for Iowa women's basketball fans.

The Book will be published by Melissa Tully, a professor and director of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, as well as Jason Brummond, the publisher of The Daily Iowan.

Tully told Hawkeye Sports,

I’m so thrilled about the opportunity for SJMC and Daily Iowan students to work on this book project to capture such a compelling moment for women’s basketball in Iowa and beyond.

Brummond added

The book will capture the unique and generational impact this team has made in our community, across Iowa and around the nation.

If this book is anything like Hawkeye basketball tickets this year...it's going to go fast. I'd pre-order right now if interested.
